CDP and Partner Stations Lean Into the Future of Fundraising Technology

Boston, MA (November 20, 2023) CDP President Michal Heiplik has announced that the full cohort of Member Services Bureau (MSB) Co-op partner stations is now live on ROI Solutions’ Revolution CRM, establishing the core of an expanded, future-focused technology ecosystem.

“This journey is more than a CRM conversion, it’s an investment in the stations we serve today, and in the public media of tomorrow,” said Heiplik. “This change offers significant opportunities for increased innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness. Building on a proud tradition of working with stations to make a positive impact, we will continue to redefine best practices in fundraising, exploring insights and trends to make the most of emerging opportunities and spark bold, smart innovation.”

The near-simultaneous move of 40+ stations to Revolution CRM - completed without any capital cost to CDP’s partner stations – has resulted in Revolution CRM now hosting the largest number of public media donors on a single platform and is at the core of CDP’s new, best-in-class technology stack. These expanded capabilities enable both CDP and individual stations to take advantage of marketing tools to guide more personalized donor journeys, digital ready constituent matching, and an unparalleled data lake and insights, as well as to be on the leading edge of an AI-ready future.

“These forward-looking technical capabilities will drive revenue and operational efficiencies in a rapidly shifting landscape,” says Heiplik. “Access to these powerful, user-friendly solutions are a comprehensive game-changer that will accelerate the adoption of new fundraising opportunities, allowing stations to develop more dynamic donor relationships within their communities.”

Ron Hetrick, President and CEO of WITF adds, “As both a CDP Board member and a public media executive, I see this as a transformational moment for our industry, and the direct result of a truly collaborative partnership. Leveraging data and platforms is the key to building capacity and resources that will allow us to sustainably serve our communities. CDP took on the financial commitment and the lion’s share of the operational burden for this project while our partner stations have dedicated significant time and attention to making this change successful. It is the foundation for maximizing our value locally, for the system, and for those we engage with in the future.”

Last year, Contributor Development Partnership(CDP) and ROI Solutions announced a strategic partnership with the selection of ROI Solutions to power CDP's fundraising, services and analytics for 40+ public media MSB Co-op stations. As the first joint effort between CDP and ROI Solutions, this project provides the foundation for future collaboration.

"The ROI Solutions and CDP teams have worked tirelessly over the last year to align data and business processes, enhance integrations, and develop change management and training initiatives," said Gina VanderLoop, Founder and CEO of ROI Solutions. "It has been a company-wide effort on both sides to ensure stations’ success."

The MSB Co-op program– created by and for public media – was built on the premise of delivering fundraising services, analytics and insights, and operational value at scale, to increase efficiencies and maximize net revenue for partner stations.  As a cooperative venture, the goal is to focus shared learning and collaboration across the system, while also delivering revenue and donor growth at the local level, all in an increasingly challenging media and non-profit environment.

“We are all striving to serve a common good and a shared mission; our partnership with ROI Solutions significantly increases our collective ability to serve nonprofits and make world-class technology available to public media stations of all sizes, supporting the positive impact they have in communities large and small.”, said Heiplik.
